When we decided to throw an open house party a few months after moving to our new office space, one of the first thoughts that came to mind was a travel theme. After all, we did ‘travel’ all the way across town in our relocation. So we ran with it and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
It all started with our travel themed invitations. They were created to resemble airline tickets – in Iridian Group colors, of course, and came complete with a custom designed map of the city that could be transformed into a paper airplane following the folding guidelines on the back.
We definitely wanted to carry the theme through to the party, but we were also conscious that people would be here to tour our new space, so we didn’t want to go so overboard (sailing pun fully intended) that it would depreciate the main attraction. So to subtly bring in our travel theme, we incorporated small pieces throughout the space. It was just enough to be festive, without being loud.
Our door prizes were wrapped in postal packaging, we placed globes throughout the offices and conference rooms, and created a fun banner reminiscent of a collection of vintage luggage tags.
And of course we didn’t forget about the food! To tie everything together, Spirit World was kind enough to work with our crazy catering request to bring in foods considered ‘specialties’ from different parts of the country. A gustatory tour of the U.S.A. right here on our conference room table.
It was a fun day and we had a great turnout! Thanks again to everyone who came out to help us celebrate our move!
PS – If you weren’t able to attend our open house, you can always tour our office virtually on our website.
